Food & Wine's Editorial Guidelines Published on July 12, 2024 Close Photo: Kendall-Jackson / La Crema / Getty Images We're just mere days away from the start of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. And while the athletes are all likely preparing to show the world what they've got, the rest of us are excitedly anticipating their peak performances — and planning plenty of watch parties too. If you're planning to host an Olympic-sized fete, you're going to need a great drink to serve your guests. And there may be no better option than the official wine of partner of USA Basketball. In April, USA Basketball announced a multiyear partnership, naming Kendall-Jackson and La Crema the Official Wine Partners of USA Basketball. "We are thrilled to welcome Kendall-Jackson and La Crema to the USA Basketball family,” USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley said in a statement at the time. As Tooley added, the partnership kicked off with its 50th anniversary celebration. Here’s What Athletes and Fans Will Eat at the 2024 Paris Olympics “We are proud to be the official wine partners and support the men and women of USA Basketball. Bringing together some of the most esteemed athletes to represent America, USA Basketball symbolizes the pinnacle of athletic achievement," Barbara Banke, the chairman and proprietor of Jackson Family Wines, added in the statement. "Together, we'll be raising a toast to USA Basketball on their journey towards victory in Paris later this summer.” Not sure what to sip? Kendall-Jackson and La Crema sent over four suggestions that are ideal for sipping while cheering, including its Kendall-Jackson California Low Calorie Sauvignon Blanc 2023, which includes "notes of citrus, pineapple, and guava," and is even a vegan-friendly and gluten-free option. It also suggested the Kendall-Jackson 2023 Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay, which happens to be America's number one selling Chardonnay, making it rather gold medal worthy itself. And, because these are the summer games, it also suggested the La Crema Monterey Pinot, with flavors of "strawberry, peach, and orange creamsicle. Lastly, it added the La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, with flavors of "red cherry, plum, and boysenberry, subtle hints of espresso and cocoa nib" could also be a perfect 10. Was this page helpful?
