In case you were unaware, there is a major (we're talking capital MAJOR) national holiday in June that celebrates one of the only foods that is both a breakfast and a dessert. Yes, everyone, this Friday, June 7, marks National Doughnut Day. And Krispy Kreme is here to party.

According to a statement provided to Food & Wine, for 2024's National Doughnut Day, Americans can receive any of their "favorite" doughnuts for free. And they mean absolutely free — zero purchase necessary. You just need to show up, ask for a favorite, and get it. (Ok, fine, there's a little fine print. You can't get any limited-time doughnuts, but really, that isn't that terrible, is it?)

Additionally, doughnut lovers can score a dozen Original Glazed for just $2 with the purchase of any dozen doughnuts, either in-store or via drive-thru at participating Krispy Kreme shops.

“Krispy Kreme fans look forward to National Doughnut Day every year, and this year they can get their favorite for free,” Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer at Krispy Kreme, shared. “It’s a sweet day all around. We can’t wait to thank everyone for their love of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.”

Though it's not technically a doughnut, Krispy Kreme fans can also pick up a few of its deeply beloved Original Glazed Cinnamon Rolls while they're in-store too. Krispy Kreme finally rolled out the sweet treat seven days a week in April after serving it exclusively on Sundays in April, making it entirely possible to get these on Friday as well.

“Our Original Glazed Cinnamon Roll was very well received when we introduced it last year for a limited time. When we get a fan reaction like that, we want to give them what they want. And there’s no cinnamon roll better than ours; hand-cut and covered in our iconic Original Glaze,” Skena previously shared.

We also noticed that the announcement specifically said "Americans" can pick up a free treat. That may ruffle some feathers in Paris, France, where Krispy Kreme opened a new location in December to incredible fanfare. But we're sure they'll get their freebies another day.
